How do I install and run a java program?

No installation is necessary. Video Code Maker is a java program so be sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer-- Java is free and can be downloaded here http://www.java.com/

After purchasing you will be sent immediately to a download page. You will download a zip file that's less than 1MB in size. Once you've opened the zip file and copied the JAR FILE to your desktop, just double-click the super small less than 1MB JAR file to your desktop and double-click the JAR file to run the program.

If the program does not run, it's probably because you don't have the latest version of Java.

Windows and Mac OS X automatic updates will update your java for you if you let them. Sometimes a firewall can disrupt your java from being updated. Java.com has a fantastic help section.

What kind of media do you want to post to the web?

Make your choice based on your type of video or audio file first.

If you want to post a .wmv or .wma file to the web, then you can only chose Windows Media. But if you want to post an .mp3, then you can choose any option.

In essence you're choosing a media player and a publisher.  Media players are propriety--they will not play or publish their competitors propriety files. Quicktime does not play wmv and windows does not play mov, but they both play mpg and mp3.

Enter video file (or audio file) location (url):

Tell Video Code Maker where your media file is. If you've already uploaded your media files to your host, then your answer will look something like this-- http://www.myweb.com/videos/video17.mov

or this-- http://media.myvideohost.net/broadcast/17483/video.wmv

But not this-- http://naturevideos.com/watch?v=N-qErvFoIkY

Video Code Maker also accepts shortened addresses for those who know what they're doing. A shortened address helps you test the html on your computer when using webpage creation software. Here's what a shortened url looks like: /videos/myvideo.mov

Notice that every location ends with a video file extension.
